5 Months Old

Five months. Really? It doesn't feel like it! We can't believe it has been half a year since we've had our lives flipped up side down with a new baby. In some respects it has been a blur, and in other respects it seems as though she has always been with us. Either way, each day is an unbelievable blessing.  So cheers to you our dear daughter...

We say it every month, but we just can't believe how much you grow everyday.  This month has blended with last month and I'm sure will blur with the next.  So much has changed, yet not much has changed at all. But we know this, we are continually proud of your growth and happy to see you smile and laugh. Our hearts overfill with joy knowing that you are happy, healthy and thriving in our lives. The little things you do are just icing on the cake...

A few of your milestones this month:
-You rolled onto your belly with a little help from mommy (April 17)
-Drool. You drool a lot. Seriously. Leaky faucet comes to mind.
-You rolled onto your belly all by yourself while mommy was at work (April 25)
-You sit up more steadily...but topple over after a few seconds. It's adorable.
-There's a lot of chuckling and laughing from you now.
-You hold your gaze much longer with mommy and daddy.
-More interested in the world -you love being carried face out to the world.
-You recognize mom and dad very easily now and smile when you see us.
-Went to the park for the first time (Mason Regional Park in Irvine, CA) and had our first family picnic there
-Your first visit to UCI (we are convinced you are going to be an Anteater just like us)
-We're able to take you out to dinner with us regularly and you don't fuss :)
-You're still waking up twice a night, around 2:30 and 5:30. Mommy secretly loves it.
-You still don't nap very well and you don't love to eat.
-You have just become interested in what mommy puts in her mouth. Every time I take a drink of water or eat dinner, you stare and smack your lips. We think you may be ready for solids.
-Sophie the Giraffe is your favorite teething toy.
-You started to grunt. It's hilarious! You make these deep, guttural grunts and your face gets very serious!
